Store Manager

About the Role

Managers In Training will learn how to successfully manage the day-to-day responsibilities of running a Loaf N Jug convenience store location. This role supports the Store Manager and other team members in delivering an exceptional guest shopping experience. After training, you’ll become part of our bench leadership team, helping to fill in during absences until assigned to your own store.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a warm welcome and a smile, delivering exceptional customer service.
• Assist the Store Manager with building and developing a strong store team: training, scheduling, and coaching team members.
• Act as a leader within the team by setting clear and measurable goals, holding self and others accountable, and communicating frequently and effectively.
• Monitor product levels on the sales floor, rotating stock and keeping product levels full to ensure 100% in-stock availability for guests.
• Oversee quality control, merchandising, and food safety programs in locations that offer hot food.
• Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of both the interior and exterior of the store, including the coffee station, food service area, and bathrooms.
• Operate the cash register efficiently.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or District Manager.

Training Process

During official training weeks, Managers In Training work alongside Training Managers, gaining insight and best practices for managing a convenience store location. During supervisory weeks (in between training weeks), you’ll work a variety of shifts alongside team members, putting leadership training into practice.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: High School or GED.
• Minimum Experience: 1 year in retail or food service.
• Preferred Experience: 1 year in retail, guest service, or restaurant in a leadership role.
• Preferred Licenses/Certifications: ServSafe/Food Safety certification (a plus but not mandatory).
• Ability to maneuver and regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand/walk 8 hours a day; reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, reach, grasp, and grip; and work in cooler temperatures.
• Comfortable talking and interacting with guests and team members.
• High energy and ability to move quickly between tasks.
• Team-oriented; willing to give extra effort to help others.
• Computer skills are helpful.
• Ability to travel up to 5% (e.g., delivering deposits to the bank independently where applicable; must have own vehicle).
• Specialized attire required in food establishments (hats, visors, gloves, etc. provided).

Schedule

This is a full-time position (40 regular hours maximum with 5 hours of overtime required). Loaf N Jug locations can be open 24 hours, so this role involves working a variety of hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
