About the role

The Store Manager will lead Hammitt’s new retail location at Carmel Plaza. As the ultimate leader of the store, you will oversee daily operations, drive sales performance, and cultivate an electric, inviting store culture. You will build and mentor a high‑performing team, foster deep customer relationships, and execute strategic local marketing and activations to bring the Hammitt experience to life in Carmel‑by‑the‑Sea.

Responsibilities

• Build and cultivate a powerhouse team from the ground up, handling recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing mentorship.
• Drive top‑line performance and store profitability by owning key KPIs, analyzing metrics, and championing creative sales strategies.
• Orchestrate stand‑out store activations, VIP parties, and partnerships with local influencers and charities.
• Execute the marketing calendar, building buzz around special‑edition drops, seasonal launches, and exclusive gifts with purchase.
• Become an expert on core signature heritage styles and fresh seasonal collections.
• Curate high‑impact visual‑merchandising displays that tell the brand story.
• Maintain airtight stockroom management and inventory control.
• Deliver warm, unforgettable customer experiences, welcoming every guest like a friend.
• Lead with initiative, spotting opportunities early and tackling challenges with honesty, agility, and precision.
• Bring resourceful, creative solutions, adaptability, and composure to every situation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of store leadership experience in premium/luxury fashion retail or lifestyle brands.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent hands‑on leadership experience.
• Proven clienteling background with a track record of building and nurturing a loyal book of business.
• Tech‑forward mindset; comfortable navigating POS systems, social media, and e‑commerce platforms.
• Clear, captivating communication skills—effective in writing, one‑on‑one, and public speaking.
• Active listening ability to connect authentically and respond empathetically to customers and team members.
• Demonstrated talent for inspiring, energizing, and elevating teams to exceed performance targets.

Pay

Competitive salary range of $70,000–$85,000, plus bonus eligibility.
