Store Manager
About the role
This full-time day shift position oversees the daily operations of one or more self-storage locations with limited direct supervision. Responsibilities include maintaining high cleanliness standards, ensuring financial accuracy through reporting and controls, and delivering operational excellence. The role also focuses on building customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, following a structured sales process, and managing customer accounts.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Maximize sales objectives through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
- Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness through continuous maintenance of the site, including sweeping, mopping, grounds maintenance, and upkeep of the office and storage building interiors and exteriors.
- Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
- Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
- Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
- Oversee routine administrative tasks, including maintaining auction files, following up on delinquent accounts, monitoring store budgets, and preparing and delivering bank deposits.
- Protect company culture by establishing and maintaining professional relationships with all Extra Space employees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of customer-facing work experience.
- Leadership experience preferred but not required.
- Sales experience preferred.
- Current valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle is necessary for daily bank deposits and travel to other sites as needed, except in New York City and Brooklyn.
- High School diploma or GED is required; college education is a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Responsibilities include a mix of indoor and outdoor tasks with varying physical demands and exposure to seasonal weather conditions. Regular tasks involve standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, sitting, and lifting. Frequently required to lift or move items up to 35 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Pay
Starting pay range: $19.50 – $20.50 per hour.
Schedule
Day shift only; office closes at 6 p.m. This location is closed on Sundays.
