Store Manager

About the role

Full-time shift availability including weekdays and weekends at the Northern Tier BU - Region 07 - Market 05 location in Victoria, Minnesota.

Essential Duties

• Leadership and Management: Directly supervises 2+ full-time employees including Assistant Manager(s), Lead Representative(s) and Customer Service Representative(s). Recruits, hires and trains positive, enthusiastic employees. Develops, manages and assigns tasks to ensure the store is clean, stocked, organized and well-kept. Maintains professional and supportive image. Schedules employees within Company guidelines to maximize customer service and store image. Implements non-discriminatory management skills while hiring, training, counseling, mentoring, motivating and separating employees.
• Store Relationships: Develops positive relationships with suppliers. Promotes excellent service and resolves customer complaints professionally. Provides regular and predictable onsite attendance. Promotes a safe, positive public image within the community.
• Training and Development: Prepares ongoing performance appraisals in Workday including 30- and 60-day check-ins, 90-day, 12-month, and anniversary check-ins. Trains employees on customer service, store image, marketing execution, safety procedures, and cash awareness. Ensures employees complete all required training.
• Communications: Ensures timely employee communication. Establishes periodic communication meetings with store employees and the District Manager.
• Organizing and Planning: Evaluates and develops action plans to address store needs. Maintains store files and manuals. Ensures reports are completed accurately and on time. Ensures merchandise is stocked, displayed and priced correctly. Ensures employment posters are accessible.
• Financial: Analyzes daily sales and expense information to maximize sales and net profits. Budgets and forecasts P&L lines; understands and manages merchandise margins. Safeguards and accounts for money received and disbursed. Performs financial analysis to maximize sales and net profits. Notifies District Manager of any sales, cash, inventory or operating discrepancy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 1–2 years of retail work experience or equivalent combination preferred
• Ability to supervise and train for use of equipment, tools and materials in CSR, LSR and SA job descriptions
• Ability to supervise and manage functions in CSR, LSR and SA job descriptions
• Ability to use a computer including completion and analysis of reports, inventory control, cash control, employment forms
• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
• Open availability
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English
• Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle
• Ability to sit for long periods

Certifications

• Food Server certificate (e.g. ServSafe) and Food Safety Management certification may be required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work a minimum of 50 hours per week
• Ability to be exposed to cold or warm temperature extremes working occasionally in a walk-in cooler/freezer and outdoors
• Ability to occasionally lift/carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead (stocking/inventory)
• Ability to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist (replenishing fountain syrups)
• Ability to grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands for entire shift (requires eye-hand coordination)
• Ability to push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds force (using a hand-truck)
• Ability to reach overhead, bend and twist at waist, stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, pull
• Ability to communicate orally
• Ability to operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard
• Ability to work alone
• Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift
• May require climbing a ladder

Work Environment

• 50 hours per week including all shifts, weekends and holidays
• Approximately 95% indoors, but required to clean parking lots, gas pumps, take out garbage, etc.
• Exposure to extreme cold in walk-in cooler/freezer
• Exposure to occasional noise
• Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision

Pay

$18.50 to $23.50 per hour
