Responsibilities

General Duties

• Follow all safety rules, procedures, and practices.
• Report to assigned locations for training and actively participate in training activities.
• Carry out assignments in training for and/or performing firefighting and first aid.
• Demonstrate competency in activities delineated in the Duties and Qualifications sections via performance of job duties and training/testing programs.
• Watch for and promptly report any damaged or defective equipment or conditions that may cause damage or injury.
• Perform duties of lower or higher classifications incidental to the job and within capabilities, including training for higher classification requirements.
• Keep all equipment, tools, materials, and work areas clean and orderly.
• Report as directed to any facility for any shift where needed.
• Perform work in a responsible and cooperative manner to facilitate a positive working environment.
• Compile information and generate reports, forms, and documents as required.
• Represent the Company to the community with attention to the highest standard of conduct, appearance, and attitude.

Specific Duties

• Perform manual labor duties including digging, backfilling, loading, and unloading supplies, tools, materials, and equipment.
• Perform facilities maintenance duties such as cleaning, painting, and lubrication of various piping and equipment.
• Operate Company vehicles.
• Learn to use instruments such as pressure testers, differential testers, titrators, combustible gas indicators, moisture analyzers, ultrasonic thickness gauges, 2S analyzers, and various electronic and electrical equipment.
• Assist in the installation, operations, maintenance, and removal of gas control equipment, including control measurement and communication equipment.
• Assist in determining various gas calculations.
• Study and become familiar with electrical schematics, technical manuals, and test procedures.
• Assist in making and maintaining necessary drawings related to the job.
• Assist in the wiring of internal corrections of computer equipment and remote terminal units.
• Assist in the operation and maintenance of various Measurement and Regulation equipment.
• Assist in the installation, operation, and maintenance of station piping.
• Learn the operations of the gas system.
• Learn to read, understand, and use various maps and records associated with measurement, regulation operations, and compressor stations.
• For limited periods, assist with Storage Operator functions, including operation of compressor engines, purification, dehydration, and auxiliary equipment in response to changing flows, pressures, temperatures, and levels through manual and automated equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications for Entry Into:

• Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English, and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Education or knowledge equivalent to satisfactory completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to learn to use tools and equipment required in the work.
• Willingness to become familiar with and comply with Company Safety Rules.
• Possess a valid state driver's license and pass the Transportation Department's driver's test for operating company vehicles, including those with manual transmissions.
• Willingness to work inside and outside under varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to report to any facility for any shift where needed.
• Good health and ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including work at heights and heavy manual labor.
• Willingness and ability to acquire necessary knowledge and skills to advance to higher classifications.
• Ability to communicate through verbal and written reports.
• Ability to learn to make and read simple drawings and sketches.
• Willingness to carry through work assignments and encourage cooperation and satisfactory work from others.
• Successfully complete entry-level testing programs measuring job-responsive aptitude, ability to retain knowledge, and problem-solving skills.
• Inclusion in the respirator fit testing program.

Specific Qualifications

• Graduate of a two-year school with a major in electronics or equivalent.
• General knowledge of electronic test equipment such as Volt-OHM meters and ammeters.
• Normal vision, including the ability to differentiate colors.
• General knowledge of the operation and maintenance of soldering irons, electric drills, and other power tools associated with electronic duties.
• Ability to perform arithmetic and simple algebra.
• Ability to read a ruler and make accurate measurement readings.
