McCain Foods is accepting applications for a Stockroom Supervisor role at the Burley, Idaho plant. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager and supervises the Stockroom Clerk(s) and Receiving Clerk(s).

About the role

The Stockroom Supervisor will purchase quality materials at the best prices and expedite purchases in a timely manner to meet the requirements of the business. Maintain good working relationships with all employees and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Follow-up on ordering parts.
  • Request vendor loads as required with freight terms, payment terms, tax status, etc.
  • Provide information on pricing, back order, estimated shipping dates, etc., for which orders are placed.
  • Assist factory personnel when purchasing help is needed.
  • Provide Receiving Clerk with information on incoming shipments that are not easily identified including rush orders, special deliveries, overages, back orders, etc.
  • Achieve best pricing available by contact, review, and monitor with vendors and requestors for substitutions, consolidation, etc. Request quotes as needed.
  • Negotiate and arrange yearly contracts with vendors and/or suppliers.
  • Review RTV’s (return to vendor) requisitions and credits for timely processing.
  • Run requisitions and review stockroom orders and releases from the stockroom to Purchasing.
  • Add parts to stock inventory. Utilize all available and source new space in stockroom for new inventory.
  • Run inventory reports.
  • Check out discrepancies and correct inventory.
  • Identify parts that are obsolete and try to return them for credit. Delete obsolete parts from the inventory.
  • Cut back and add to the maximum or minimum on parts.
  • Using SAP System, activate parts to the proper vendor.
  • Create an environment that encourages BOS in your department.

Responsibilities for Managers and Supervisors

As a member of the leadership team, your participation in the continuous improvement process is expected. This includes taking an active role in process improvement initiatives, employee training, utilization of SPC or similar programs for process improvement, and upgrading your current skill base.

Requirements

  • Degree in Management Logistics or related field desired.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of parts.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to work well under stress.
  • Basic computer experience, basic accounting knowledge, and data processing experience.

Pay

$58,800.00 - $78,500.00 USD annually + Bonus eligibility
