About the role
The Area Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Store Leadership team, overseeing a specific area of the store and managing the general operations and supervision of the store when acting as the Manager on Duty. Key responsibilities include maintaining a safe and secure environment, providing excellent customer service, managing merchandise, and ensuring loss prevention measures are in place.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure shopping environment by immediately correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
- Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area at all times.
- Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
- Treat all customers, associates, and other leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
- Manage the front-end operations, train and coach associates on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other front-end procedures.
- Supervise fitting rooms, ensuring their cleanliness and compliance with Company policy.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Qualifications and Special Skills
- Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time, bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Stockroom leads: ability to regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 lbs.
