Sterile Processing Technician III
Purpose & Scope
Responsible for cleaning and decontaminating medical equipment and instrumentation; preparing sterile procedure trays and equipment; operating steam, low temperature sterilizers, and any other type of sterilization equipment used within CSP; maintaining sterile/clean storage and all other department areas; answering phone and service door; delivering requested items; completing all required documentation on activities; maintaining the standards of the organization's mission, goals, and safety behaviors; and assisting in other areas as requested. Participate in the training and in-service programs for staff and students. Assumes responsibility and accountability at all times for quality performance, and represents the CSP department in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Completion of an accredited Central Service Technician training course is preferred.
Experience
- Four years of experience in sterile processing is required.
Certification/Licensure
- Certification in central sterile processing is required.
