Job Summary
The Sterile Processing Technician II is a certified technician whose areas of responsibilities covers decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to established standards/guidelines. The SP Tech II demonstrates personal and professional effectiveness when working in an in-direct patient care department and addressing the request of the customer or provider.Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- (AND) Central Service Technology Course/Or Equivalent Work Experience (at least one year experience in central sterile processing)
- Licenses & Certifications: Hold one of the following certifications or obtain within one year of hire: CRCST, CSPDT, or CBSPD
- Work Experience: One (1) year of Central Sterile Processing experience required.
- Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)
- Bilingual skills preferred
- Writing/Reports: Legible handwriting and coherent writing
- Other Skills: Medical Terms (Surgical/ Medical Terminology Knowledge, Critical Thinking, Multi-task in a fast paced environment, Ability to lead projects, Monitor and interpret results of gauges, Research surgical instruments and supply companies), PC (Skills must be appropriate to meet the job requirements)
