About the role

The Sterile Processing Technician is a health care professional responsible for preparing, assembling, cleaning, and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment used in various clinical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting agents.
• Assemble trays and peel packs, ensuring correct identification of contents and following MIFU instructions.
• Perform steam and Sterrad sterilization methods.
• Follow decontamination practices and safety protocols.
• Work as part of a team, demonstrating adaptability and self-motivation.
• Conduct biological testing and instrument/set identification.
• Operate relevant equipment and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Restock supplies and ensure inventory par levels are met.
• Report and address equipment or process issues promptly.

Requirements

• Experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Preferred experience in a surgery environment.
• Preferred sterile processing experience.
• Preferred certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician - HSPA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a sterile processing technician program preferred.
• Knowledge of sterilization processes and safety protocols.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and operate equipment.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Pay

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

First Shift (Days - Less than 12 hours per shift), 40 hours per week.
