Job Summary
Wesley Woodlawn Hospital & ER, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician (SPC) PRN. This role supports the hospital's mission of optimizing the quality of life for all patients.
What You Should Expect to Do
- Supports surgical instrument and tray management in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Handles, decontaminates, assembles, sterilizes, and returns surgical instruments and trays.
- Supports perioperative services by providing necessary items and communicating with team leadership.
- Reports broken instrumentation and communicates with relevant parties.
- Participates in educational offerings and in-services to stay updated on departmental practices and certifications.
- Communicates professionally with all staff and facility employees.
- Maintains productivity, tray audits, and adherence to hygiene protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician.
- At least 1 year of previous Sterile Processing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and surgical instruments.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
