Responsibilities
- Decontamination and processing of all surgical instrumentation, supplies, and equipment according to policy and procedure and care standards.
- Communicate effectively using written, verbal, and non-verbal skills when interacting with staff, physicians, and ancillary departments.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace by setting priorities and protecting patient interests.
- Protect and advance patient's best interest by demonstrating knowledge, skills, and abilities as outlined in this job description.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- One year of experience in cleaning and assembling instrument sets and working in Sterile Processing is preferred.
- Effective reading, writing, spelling, and simple math skills for calculating and reporting purposes.
- A good working knowledge of steam and gas sterilization.
