About the role

Responsibilities
- Decontamination and processing of all surgical instrumentation, supplies, and equipment according to policy and procedure and care standards.
- Ability to take direction from others and follow through in a concise manner, promoting efficiency.
- Effective communication using written, verbal, and non-verbal skills when interacting with staff, physicians, and ancillary departments.
- Maintaining knowledge of equipment, expected patient outcomes, and anticipated complications.
- Protecting and advancing the patient's best interest.
- Satisfactorily demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description, and continuously demonstrating competency in performing job duties.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year experience in cleaning and assembling instrument sets and working in Sterile Processing preferred.
- Effectively reads, writes clearly, spells, and performs simple math for calculating and reporting purposes.
- Good working knowledge of steam and gas sterilization.
