Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, cleans, processes, and sterilizes surgical instrumentation, supplies, and equipment according to policy and procedure and care standards.
• Communicates effectively using written, verbal, and non-verbal skills when interacting with staff, physicians, and ancillary departments.
• Maintains a clean and safe workplace by following safety protocols and ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
• Works as a team member within the entire facility, assisting with various tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• One year experience in cleaning and assembling instrument sets and working in Sterile Processing preferred.
• Effectively reads, writes clearly, spells, and performs simple math for calculating and reporting purposes.
• Good working knowledge of steam and gas sterilization.
