Responsibilities
- Maintains the timely and efficient completion of instrumentation and case carts for use in the O.R. and C.V.O.R.
- Identifies orientation and education needs of staff.
- Aids in the design and development of programs to promote education and enhance their technical knowledge.
- Aids the department manager in the development and implementation of new programs and systems.
- Screens candidates for replacement positions and participates in the completion of annual performance and competency evaluations.
- Promotes communication and collaboration among staff to enhance end products provided to areas serviced.
- Assumes responsibility for the department in the absence of the manager.
- Acts as a preceptor, mentor, and resource in support of department team members.
Requirements
- Operational skills.
- Required Sterile Processing Certification (CBSPD Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist).
- High School or Equivalent Education.
- Preferred Hospital Experience.
