Responsibilities and Duties

  • Compounding of sterile and non-sterile medications.
  • Ability to perform aseptic technique.
  • Ability to perform non-sterile compounding.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Lab cleaning duties.
  • Inventory & equipment management.
  • Compliance with USP guidelines.
  • Following Iowa State Board of Pharmacy and accreditation standards.
  • Proactive listener and effective speaker.
  • Actively searching for ways to be of assistance.
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong teaching skills.
  • Effective reading comprehension to understand work-related documents.
  • Knowledge of mathematics to solve problems.
  • High effective time management skills.
  • Good knowledge of learning strategies to select and use instructional methods.
  • Effective communication skills in writing.
  • Able to stand for very long times.
  • Able to follow written and oral instructions effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and people skills.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Certified pharmacy technician registered in the state of Iowa.
  • Previous non-sterile or sterile compounding experience is a plus!
