Non-Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician

About the role

Prepare compounds (non-sterile) as per the pharmacy SOPs, USP, Texas Board of Pharmacy and federal regulations & guidelines under the direct supervision of the supervising pharmacist.

Responsibilities

• Prepare labels and other documentation.
• Prepare and maintain operations records as required.
• Fill pharmacy orders and maintain complete and accurate dispensing records.
• Apply basic computer skills and record data accurately.
• Understand and perform pharmaceutical calculations.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external departments, physician's offices, and participants.
• Make outbound and take inbound calls from patients, vendors, and medical personnel.
• Maintain and track inventory.
• Comply with Manual Handling Operations Regulations for handling or lifting materials required to fulfill job duties.
• Learn specialty medications workflow.
• Function well in a team or independently with minimal supervision.
• Comply with State and Federal laws, HIPAA, and PHI.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes in workflow.

Requirements

• Previous compounding experience at a compounding pharmacy.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician License in Texas.
• IV certification is highly preferred.
• Customer service experience.
