About the role
Prepare compounds (non-sterile) as per the pharmacy SOPs, USP, Texas Board of Pharmacy and federal regulations & guidelines under the direct supervision of the supervising pharmacist.
Responsibilities
- Prepare labels and other documentation.
- Prepare and maintain operations records as required.
- Fill pharmacy orders and maintain complete and accurate dispensing records.
- Apply basic computer skills and record data accurately.
- Understand and perform pharmaceutical calculations.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external departments, physician's offices, and participants.
- Make outbound and take inbound calls from patients, vendors, and medical personnel.
- Maintain and track inventory.
- Comply with Manual Handling Operations Regulations for handling or lifting materials required to fulfill job duties.
- Learn specialty medications workflow.
- Function well in a team or independently with minimal supervision.
- Comply with State and Federal laws, HIPAA, and PHI.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes in workflow.
Requirements
- Previous compounding experience at a compounding pharmacy.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician License in Texas.
- IV certification is highly preferred.
- Customer service experience.
