Position Summary

Pope John Paul II High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated STEM teacher to join our faculty and inspire students in both mathematics and science at the high school level. Pope John Paul II High School is seeking a teacher committed to helping students achieve their full potential by attending to their academic, emotional, and spiritual needs. The hired teacher will be responsible for instructing students with varying abilities and learning styles while delivering engaging, challenging, and hands-on instruction in a range of high school mathematics and science courses. This teacher will help students build strong analytical and problem-solving skills, develop scientific curiosity, and cultivate an appreciation for the role of STEM in understanding and improving the world around them. This position includes teaching a combination of high school math and science courses including Advanced Placement courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach high school mathematics and science courses based on student needs and school scheduling.
  • Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
  • Incorporate project-based learning, inquiry, and STEM-focused instructional strategies.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Foster critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Utilize instructional technology to enhance student learning.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff regarding academic progress.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities.
  • Serve as a positive role model while promoting academic excellence and student success

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Science, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid state teaching certification (or eligibility for certification).
  • Ability to teach high school mathematics and science courses.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student-centered instruction and continuous professional growth.

Pay

$57,000 - $80,000
