About the role

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our dynamic team. Your role will involve diagnosing and repairing vehicle systems, completing scheduled maintenance, communicating with customers, and collaborating with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems using specialized tools and technical manuals.
• Execute repairs on various vehicle components and systems, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
• Perform comprehensive scheduled maintenance services and execute factory recall campaigns.
• Document all services performed and communicate findings to the Service Advisor.
• Communicate findings clearly to service advisors, advise on additional necessary repairs or maintenance, and ensure complete transparency with the customer's vehicle issues and solutions.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Work collaboratively with fellow technicians, parts team members, and service advisors to ensure a smooth and seamless workflow.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques through ongoing training and certification programs.
• Share knowledge with junior technicians and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an Automotive Technician in a dealership or reputable independent shop.
• Foundational knowledge of automotive systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, and tires.
• Familiarity with a wide range of vehicle makes and models is a plus.
• ASE certifications are highly preferred, with a focus on areas relevant to your specialization.
• OEM-specific training and certifications are a significant plus.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex automotive issues.
• Expertise in using diagnostic software and specialized tools.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• A strong commitment to quality and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
• Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools - must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• A clean driving record with no more than two moving violations or DUI’s in the last three years.
• The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
• May be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
• May be required to work overtime and weekends.
• Frequent standing and sitting with varying periods of each.
• May at times require working different shifts.
• Lift up to 60 pounds frequently.
• Walk up to three miles each day.
