Steel Warehouse Supervisor

About the role

The Steel Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for all distribution processes at Triple-S Steel, including shipping, put-away, cycle counting, picking, packing, and returns. This individual will have authority over warehouse employees, process handling, and actions of employees, and will be responsible for meeting or exceeding established objectives and key performance measures such as productivity, quality, and on-time shipments to customers.

Responsibilities

• Directing production, shipping, cost, quality, and safety to meet goals
• Reviewing schedules, determining workforce requirements, and monitoring productivity to ensure customer requirements are met
• Making decisions regarding workflow throughout the day to ensure daily operational objectives are met
• Monitoring operations, procedures, and employees to ensure quality, service, and productivity objectives are met
• Ensuring all established Triple S Steel policies are enforced and followed by all employees, including quality policy, security, safety, health, environmental, attendance, and other policies
• Assisting with training new employees in safety, proper work assignments, and job responsibilities
• Entering incident reports and providing INVEX support
• Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Three years' experience in a distribution environment (preferably steel distribution)

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this job include regularly sitting, using hands/fingers to handle or feel, and talking or hearing. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, and must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

The work environment characteristics of this job include occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but may occasionally be high due to the open office environment.
