Warehouse Supervisor

About the role

This position oversees warehouse management functions, ensuring efficient material flow, inventory accuracy, and adherence to production and shipping schedules.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments.
• Responsible for inventory accountability and accuracy.
• Arranges for in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules.
• Coordinates transportation of required materials with department supervisors for delivery to various departments.
• Encourages continuous idea generation from team members for continuous process improvement in cost, time, and safety.
• Identifies employees' skills and develops them through coaching and counseling.
• Provides continual feedback to employees on both positive and negative performance.
• Counsels employees on a regular basis.
• Conducts weekly safety meetings; monitors quality of work performed in accordance with the company's Quality Plan.
• Ensures 5S (workplace organization method in the area with good housekeeping manner) is applied on a daily basis.
• Fulfills updated schedules to meet ship dates.
• Maintains quality in accordance with the company ISO Quality Plan.
• Works on-site with regular attendance, punctuality, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Interacts cooperatively with others, deals respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
• Performs multiple tasks concurrently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in supervisory role in a warehouse / manufacturing environment required.
• Previous Material Requirements Planning (MRP) experience preferred.
• Broad working experience in supply chain functions of planning, purchasing, inventory management, and logistics.
• Hands-on knowledge of these functions.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and managerial experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Computer Skills

• Personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Language Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Physical Demands

• Regularly stands, walks, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel, talks and hears.
• Reaches with hands and arms, stoops, kneels, crouches, crawls, sits, climbs, or balances.
• Lifts and moves up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly works in a manufacturing area with moving mechanical equipment, hazards associated with welding, airborne mists and particles, chemicals, and loud shop noises.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• Subject to extreme weather conditions of temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit and/or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit for periods of more than one hour.
