Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D structural models using structural steel detailing software (Tekla preferred)
- Produce accurate fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and erection plans
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications into fabrication-ready deliverables
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to resolve design conflicts and improve constructability
- Partner with fabrication teams to clarify details and revise models as needed during production
- Ensure all deliverables align with industry best practices in structural steel detailing
- Perform quality checks on drawings and models to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Revise designs based on engineering updates, field feedback, or purchasing requirements
- Support continuous improvement of detailing workflows and modeling standards
- Contribute to the refinement of internal detailing standards and best practices
- Research and implement improvements in detailing software functionality, automation, and integration with fabrication processes
- Utilize G Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Drive, etc.) to support documentation and collaboration
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in drafting, detailing, design, architecture, construction engineering, or fabrication
- 3–5+ years of experience in structural steel detailing
- Experience with Tekla Structures preferred, but candidates with strong experience in SDS2, Advance Steel, or other structural steel detailing software are encouraged to apply
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication processes, CNC equipment, and shop workflows
- Ability to independently manage detailing workload across multiple projects
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Self-motivated, solutions-oriented, and committed to high-quality output
Role Details
- Schedule: Monday–Friday (hours TBD), with overtime as needed
- Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt
- Benefits: Eligible after 90 days (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, and paid holidays)
