About the Role

Structure the schedule of activities for the Literacy Block, Healthy Choices, and Enrichment. Conduct and support STC-HT Registrations. Support literacy tutors in the planning and implementation of Literacy activities. Work with the Enrichment tutor(s) to structure the schedule of activities. Provide feedback to literacy, Enrichment, and Healthy Choices tutors concerning best practices. Communicate regularly with Save the Children Lead Associate.

Implement site-selected family engagement activities and practices throughout the year, as outlined in the annual plan; these will vary by site. Follow all key local and state child-welfare policies and reporting protocols, as provided by the Lead Associate. Complete all required Save the Children Child Safeguarding training and all required Component training and modules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a job-related area
  • Washington State Teaching Certificate, endorsed in K-8 Elementary Education
  • Must meet WA State Certification Criteria
  • Relates well with students, parents, and peers
  • Excellent classroom control
  • Willingness and ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness and ability to work at district and building level in developing curriculum
  • Enthusiastic, creative, and resourceful motivator of students
  • Willingness to work with students outside the classroom (e.g., club advisor, class advisor)
  • Neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times
  • Goal-oriented (long-range and short-range)

Schedule

5 working days per week, 5 hours per day. Temporary position for the 2026–2027 school year.

Pay

Competitive pay at $45.00 per hour (supplemental contract).

Work Environment

The role involves physical demands such as significant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and fine finger dexterity. The job requires approximately 5% sitting, 75% walking, and 20% standing. It is performed under minimal temperature variations and may involve exposure to risk of injury or illness.
