About the role

Responsible for supporting the Transit Center from a customer service perspective.

Responsibilities

  • Provides in-person customer service from behind a screened-in service booth
  • Answers phone calls and passenger inquiries
  • Provides general support to passengers and the transit center
  • Collects any pertinent information from passengers
  • Processes payment transactions using a retail point-of-sale system
  • Uses technology as a web-based system to assist passengers with rider accounts
  • Maintains accurate ticket inventories and daily receipts
  • Light custodial duties as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of experience in customer service preferred

Skills

As a primary point of contact for GMT customers, this position must communicate effectively with the diverse population while remaining calm and collected, even in stressful situations. This position will be tasked with resolving customer issues effectively and in a timely manner, while managing multiple competing priorities.

Pay

Starting wage is $22.13 per hour.

Retirement

GMT offers 457 Retirement Plans. After one year, employees who contribute 3% will be matched by GMT at 5%, and employees who contribute 5% will be matched by GMT at 7%.

Schedule

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with an expected 40 hours per week, and a schedule of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Time Off

8.67 hours of paid time off accrued per pay period; equivalent to 5+ weeks off.
