About the role
The State Fair Building Coordinator supports building and grounds maintenance, safety, cleanliness, hospitality, and event execution at the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) grounds leading up to, during, and immediately after the Minnesota State Fair.
Responsibilities
- Ensure building and exhibits are open and operating.
- Make rounds of the grounds throughout the day/evening and trouble shoot exhibits/displays as needed.
- Set up tables, speakers, tents for presenters as needed.
- Ensure staff, volunteers and visitors have what they need.
- Answer guest questions related to the fair and to the DNR or guide them to the answer.
- Aid volunteer outdoor stage bands and presenters as needed.
- Maintain safe and clean grounds.
Requirements
- Knowledge of basic A/V equipment.
- Knowledge of routine cleaning.
- Knowledge of building maintenance.
- Customer service skills.
- Ability to manage work tasks effectively.
- Ability to recognize, analyze, communicate and effectively problem solve.
- Ability to oversee volunteer or staff work.
- Ability to follow cleaning protocols.
Qualifications
- Customer service experience.
- Experience working at a booth or exhibit.
- Experience in grounds or facility maintenance.
- Experience in cleaning, maintaining, and/or repairing buildings.
- First Aid and CPR training or certification.

Pay
$20.87 - $25.22 per hour; $43,577 - $52,659 annually.
Schedule
Day shift between the hours of 7:30am-3pm daily.
