About The Opportunity

The Camp Bow Wow Startup Specialist (SUS) partners with franchisees to ensure a seamless and successful new camp opening. This role combines operational support with strategic financial coaching, focusing on cost management, revenue growth, and achieving key financial milestones. The Startup Specialist meets with new franchisees regularly through the ramp-up phase and supports their financial growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the opening process for new camps from setup and compliance through soft and grand openings, ensuring franchisees meet operational and financial readiness standards.
  • Coach franchisees to develop financial literacy, including understanding profit-and-loss statements, tracking operational expenses, and setting achievable financial goals to help them achieve profitability.
  • Guide and make appropriate recommendations to franchisees in optimizing revenue streams, such as daycare, boarding, grooming, and retail sales, while maintaining focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Assist franchisees in tracking and analyzing key financial metrics to monitor performance, including revenue, labor costs, gross margins, and operational expenses, and provide actionable recommendations to drive profitability.
  • Collaborate with franchisees to create and execute financial plans that align with corporate standards and support sustained growth.
  • Ensure franchisees meet or exceed key performance indicators related to revenue, customer retention, and financial health.
  • Ensure new camps adhere to Camp Bow Wow’s brand and operational standards, fostering efficiency and exceptional customer and pet experiences.
  • Partner with franchisees and the marketing team to implement effective local marketing strategies that support revenue ramp-up and customer engagement.
  • Build strong partnerships with franchisees, providing them with the tools, resources, and confidence needed to navigate the financial and operational challenges of opening a new location.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in franchise operations, business consulting, financial coaching, or multi-unit management, ideally within the pet, retail, or hospitality sectors
  • Ability to travel 50% throughout the year, including overnight and weekend travel
  • 2+ years of experience driving financial performance and operational improvements, preferably in a franchise setting
  • 2+ years of experience monitoring and analyzing key financial metrics, including revenue management, gross margins, and operational expenses
  • 2+ years of experience with franchise system operations and ability to build rapport and trust with franchise owners
  • Advanced financial acumen with the ability to interpret reports, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), organization, and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail, initiative, and proactive follow-up
  • Time management and project management skills
  • Technical experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related tools
  • Experience with FranConnect or Customer Relationship Management software preferred
  • Must love dogs

Pay

Compensation Range: $70,000 – $80,000 per year

Schedule

  • Full-Time, Exempt
  • Up to 50% travel to franchise locations within territory and quarterly in-office week visits to the corporate office in Colorado
  • When not traveling, ability to work remotely (preferred location within territory but not required)
