START Transit Operator/Bus Driver - Seasonal/Variable Hour - Winter 26/27
About the role
Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit (START) is hiring qualified Transit Operators for 40 hrs/wk and for fill-in/part-time work for the winter season November 27, 2026 – April 11, 2027. This is an excellent opportunity for a value-centered, team-oriented professional interested in public service and enjoying a vibrant Rocky Mountain ski resort lifestyle with world-class skiing in Jackson Hole, Nordic skiing in Bridger-Teton National Forest, and access to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
Primary duty is the operation of a bus to transport and assist the general public along fixed routes. Routes include transporting skiers, snowboarders, employees, and guests between the Town of Jackson and Teton Village, serving locally employed community members and visitors throughout town, fill-in shifts for commuters from Teton Valley, Idaho, and Star Valley, Wyoming, and ADA service for vulnerable populations. Operators will work with an updated fleet of diesel-powered buses, motor coaches, hybrid diesel buses, and smaller gas-powered shuttle buses. Electronic data and pass scanning are used on all buses.
Requirements
- Class B CDL with air brake and passenger endorsement required.
- Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance will be qualifying.
- Ability to deal politely, effectively, and responsibly with the public.

Pay
$30–$35/hour (DOQ).
Schedule
- Paid pre-season training starting November 11, 2026.
