About the role
The Staffing Manager leads and owns the hourly team member recruiting, staffing, and onboarding programs for the facility, ensuring a consistent candidate experience, timely fulfillment of staffing needs, and compliance with applicable employment practices and policies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and own internal and external recruiting and staffing efforts for hourly team members, including reviewing applications/resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, coordinating pre-employment testing, attending offsite job fairs, hosting on-site hiring events, and assisting internal candidates with the application process
- Identify, develop, and maintain staffing pipelines through schools, job boards, employers, nonprofit organizations, signage, community resources, and other recruiting channels
- Coordinate and support New Employee Orientation (NEO) events to ensure new hires receive timely onboarding information and a consistent introduction to the facility
- Maintain applicant tracking system integrity and organization
- Maintain appropriate communication with internal and external applicants through recruiting and onboarding process
- Provide timely reports on staffing levels, open positions, and turnover, and analyze the results to identify trends and staffing needs
- Assist HR team in identifying opportunities for process improvements or cost savings
- Partner with HR team to take timely and appropriate action in the investigation and resolution of workplace complaints, including discrimination, harassment and wage/hour concerns
- Ensure recruiting, staffing, and onboarding activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements and company policies, and maintain accurate, timely records
- Report food safety issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, organizational development, or a related field preferred
- At least five years of recruiting and staffing experience required
- At least two years of experience recruiting and staffing hourly employees in a manufacturing or production facility
- Bilingual (Spanish or Arabic) a plus
- Knowledge of current state and federal employment laws
Skills
- Excellent customer service, communication (oral/written) skills, project management and team collaboration skills
- Strong initiative, problem solving, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams
- Experience using HRIS/ATS systems
- Ability to work successfully with all levels of applicants, employees and management
- Experience and/or ability to excel in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
- Ability to communicate and understand instructions in English
Working Conditions/Physical Factors
- Primarily an office environment but occasionally individual is on production floor with exposure to heat, dust and allergens such as nuts, peanuts, dairy and grains
- Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally
- Must be able to ascend and descend building stairways and ramps to perform tasks required in job description
- Position requires frequent sitting for long periods of time with occasional standing, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, bending and twisting
