About the Role

The Staffing Coordinator provides staffing and scheduling support for assigned departments. In collaboration with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Department Leadership, supports the creation and revision of department schedules by matching the needs of the individual departments to the number of personnel available.

Responsibilities

  • Meet schedule posting deadlines according to Hospital policy or Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Schedule staff in the most productive and cost-effective manner, utilizing all staffing strategies determined by the organization.
  • Evaluate and revise daily staffing of departments, including replacement of personnel due to paid time off, sick leave, leave of absence, or other unexpected circumstances.
  • Obtain daily staffing needs from assigned departments at regular intervals and through active rounding to make real-time adjustments (flex, float, or fill gaps).
  • Participate in Hospital position control meetings, working with C-Suite to review schedules and staffing reports.
  • Forecast staffing needs to avoid emergencies in staffing.
  • Support the review and approval process for requesting supplemental agency personnel.
  • Review contracted labor candidates in a timely manner to determine qualifications and submit to CNO and Department Leadership for placement decisions.
  • Update agency candidate orders in Vendor Management System (VMS).
  • Ensure all incoming agency personnel have complete compliance files in the VMS.
  • Collaborate with the Finance department to reconcile VMS invoices for hours and charges due to agencies.
  • Establish a pattern of agency reduction.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Experience in healthcare preferred, preferably in an acute care setting.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

Reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $22.11 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
