About the role
Responsible for all aspects of direct patient care while maintaining high performance level in quality, service, critical nursing skills and critical thinking.
Provides leadership by delegating and working cooperatively and collaboratively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice and professional nursing performance in the clinical setting.

- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Follows the five (5) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.
- Maintains an awareness of legal aspects of nursing, including accurate and timely documentation according to standards.
- Participates in performance improvement activities and/or committees.
- Assists in orientation and/or acts as a preceptor for new personnel.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- BSN or current enrollment in BSN program preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in a clinical care, acute care setting preferred.
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six (6) months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within six (6) months of hire.
- National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale certification required within 6 months of hire.
