RN Float Nurse

Key Responsibilities

• Observation & Documentation:
  • Triage patient data and respond accordingly.
  • Identify and prioritize patient problems and needs.
  • Monitor emergency situations and initiate advanced therapy.
• Nursing Care:
  • Complete comprehensive assessments and document findings.
  • Use critical thinking to identify and monitor acute changes.
  • Administer medications and train participants in self-administration.
  • Implement and monitor the plan of care, focusing on preventive and reactive care.
  • Communicate participant changes to providers promptly.
  • Provide training and supervision to STLC Day Center Staff.
• Communication:
  • Communicate with participants, providers, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Maintain accurate records of participant attendance and address unexplained absences.
  • Explain nursing procedures clearly and effectively.
  • Report inappropriate or ineffective care management to the interdisciplinary team.
• Supervisory/Leadership:
  • Delegate tasks to clinical support staff and ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure adherence to policies addressing safe working conditions.

Specifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience: Practiced nursing for the past 3 years, with at least 1 year of experience working with the frail, elderly population.
