Staff Pharmacist II-Inpatient Pharmacy Orange-FT Variable Shift

About the role

The Staff Pharmacist at UCI Health is responsible for performing day-to-day drug distribution, computer drug and IV order processing, therapeutic intervention, drug information and consultation, maintaining patient profiles, attending cardio-pulmonary emergencies, drug therapy monitoring, and drug compounding. They also direct technicians, perform inventory control, and actively precept pharmacy residents, students, technicians, or interns.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day drug distribution and computer drug and IV order processing
• Provide therapeutic intervention and drug information as needed
• Maintain patient profiles and attend cardio-pulmonary emergencies
• Monitor drug therapies and compound drugs
• Direct technicians and perform inventory control
• Precept pharmacy residents, students, technicians, or interns

Requirements

• Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of pharmacy as determined by the CA Board of Pharmacy
• One year of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist or completion of PGY1 by time of hire
• Current knowledge of drug references, Joint Commission requirements, and other regulatory standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Current BLS or ACLS upon hire
• CA Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacist licensure in good standing
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to extract pertinent information from the patient or other sources and relate it to the patient’s medical management plan

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree
• One year of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist or completion of PGY1 by time of hire
• Current knowledge of drug references, Joint Commission requirements, and other regulatory standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Current BLS or ACLS upon hire
• CA Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacist licensure in good standing
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
