Per Diem Pharmacy Technician II-Inpatient Pharmacy Orange-Variable Shift

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician will prepare, package, document, and label drug products under the direct technical supervision of the Pharmacist. They will perform all required data entry and filing associated with the process and functions related to drug purchasing and inventory control procedures. The technician will also participate in Pharmacy Department Performance Improvement projects/programs and collect data for workload measurements as needed or required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, document, and label drug products under the direct technical supervision of the Pharmacist
• Perform all required data entry and filing associated with the process
• Perform functions related to drug purchasing and inventory control procedures
• Participate in Pharmacy Department Performance Improvement projects/programs
• Collect data for workload measurements as needed or required
• Identify and report any issues or concerns related to drug preparation and labeling

Requirements

• Minimum one year full-time relevant experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• California Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration License or Pharmacy Intern Registration Certificate
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
• 1+ year experience in admixing chemotherapy drugs (preferred)

Qualifications

• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
• Experience in IV solution processing (preferred)

Skills

• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
