Per Diem Pharmacy Technician II-Inpatient Pharmacy Orange-Variable Shift

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician will prepare, package, document, and label drug products under the direct technical supervision of the Pharmacist. They will also perform all required data entry and filing associated with the process, and participate in Pharmacy Department Performance Improvement projects/programs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, document, and label drug products under the direct technical supervision of the Pharmacist.
• Perform all required data entry and filing associated with the process.
• Participate in Pharmacy Department Performance Improvement projects/programs and collect data for workload measurements as needed or required.
• Identify and report any issues related to drug preparation and labeling.
• Assist in the management of drug purchasing and inventory control procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum one year full-time relevant experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• California Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration License or Pharmacy Intern Registration Certificate.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
• One plus year experience in a pharmacy preparing sterile I.V. admixture.
• Prior experience (minimum 2 years) in a pharmacy preparing sterile I.V. admixture.
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
• Experience in IV solution processing.

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Must be able to demonstrate proper aseptic techniques.
