About the role
The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on principles from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences, focusing on family-centered care for pediatric patients.
Responsibilities
- Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and directing nursing care addressing the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients of all ages
- Demonstrating leadership, mentorship, and participation in quality improvement, safety, and evidence-based practices
- Collaborating with healthcare teams and supporting provider staff to ensure efficient, high-quality care and excellent customer service
- Utilizing informatics and technology systems
- Adapting to temporary assignments across the organization based on patient needs
- Staff education and system-based practices (other duties may include)
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
- Experience with healthcare teams, Microsoft Office, and electronic medical records (preferred)
- Proficiency in providing leadership, guidance, and motivation to staff
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or to be obtained within 5 years
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Ohio
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred
