Staff Nurse - Special Care Nursery

About the role

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on principles from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences, focusing on family-centered care for pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and directing nursing care addressing the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients of all ages
• Demonstrating leadership, mentorship, and participation in quality improvement, safety, and evidence-based practices
• Collaborating with healthcare teams and supporting provider staff to ensure efficient, high-quality care and excellent customer service
• Utilizing informatics and technology systems
• Adapting to temporary assignments across the organization based on patient needs
• Staff education and system-based practices (other duties may include)

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
• Experience with healthcare teams, Microsoft Office, and electronic medical records (preferred)
• Proficiency in providing leadership, guidance, and motivation to staff

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or to be obtained within 5 years
• Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Ohio
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred
