Staff Nurse - Special Care Nursery

About the Role

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care, utilizing knowledge from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. They assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct family-centered care for pediatric patients, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages in a part-time, onsite setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, care planning, and delivery within their scope of practice.
• Demonstrate leadership, mentorship, and professional duties, including precepting new staff.
• Engage in quality improvement, safety, evidence-based practice, and system-based activities.
• Support provider collaboration, promote a team approach, and ensure excellent customer service.
• Utilize informatics and technology, including electronic medical records.
• Contribute to staff education and participate in various unit assignments as needed.

Requirements

• BSN required or to be obtained within 5 years; RN licensure in Ohio.
• Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 1 year healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and EMR systems preferred.
