Staff Nurse - Special Care Nursery

About the role

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care within a family-centered approach, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care for individuals or groups in a pediatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care, ensuring physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs are met across all ages and developmental stages.
• Demonstrate leadership, mentorship, and professional duties, including precepting new staff and promoting evidence-based practices.
• Support collaborative team efforts to ensure efficient operations, quality care, and excellent customer service.
• Engage in quality improvement, safety initiatives, informatics, and system-based practices.
• Participate in staff education and adapt to temporary assignments across the organization based on patient needs.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion within 5 years, and current Ohio RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Experience working with various organizational levels and proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC) preferred.
• Minimum of one year of healthcare experience preferred.
