Staff Nurse - NICU

Role Summary

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and directs family-centered care for individuals or groups within their scope of practice.
• Delivers care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages.
• Performs leadership, professional duties, and patient-centered care activities.
• Engages in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practices.
• Supports staff education, precepts new employees, and mentors clinical staff.
• Collaborates with providers to ensure efficient, high-quality care and excellent customer service, especially for pediatric patients.
• Utilizes systems-based practices, informatics, and technology tools effectively.
• May be temporarily assigned to different areas based on patient needs.
• Performs additional duties as required.

• Leadership, guidance, and motivation skills to foster teamwork and quality care.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities.
• Organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Experience with various organizational levels and healthcare settings preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic medical records (preferred).

Education & Licensing

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent within five years of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
• Minimum of one year of relevant healthcare experience preferred.
