Role Summary
The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and directs family-centered care for individuals or groups within their scope of practice.
- Delivers care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages.
- Performs leadership, professional duties, and patient-centered care activities.
- Engages in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practices.
- Supports staff education, precepts new employees, and mentors clinical staff.
- Collaborates with providers to ensure efficient, high-quality care and excellent customer service, especially for pediatric patients.
- Utilizes systems-based practices, informatics, and technology tools effectively.
- May be temporarily assigned to different areas based on patient needs.
- Performs additional duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Leadership, guidance, and motivation skills to foster teamwork and quality care.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Experience with various organizational levels and healthcare settings preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic medical records (preferred).
Education & Licensing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent within five years of hire.
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
- Minimum of one year of relevant healthcare experience preferred.
