About the role
The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct patient-centered care for individuals or groups within their scope of practice.
- Deliver care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages.
- Demonstrate leadership, perform quality improvement and safety duties, and mentor clinical staff, including precepting new employees.
- Support provider collaboration to ensure efficient, high-quality care and excellent customer service, especially for pediatric patients.
- Engage in evidence-based practice, systems-based practice, informatics, and technology duties.
- Participate in staff education and may be temporarily assigned to different hospital areas based on patient needs.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with healthcare settings, Microsoft Office, and electronic medical records (preferred).
Education
- BSN or equivalent (must be obtained within 5 years if not already held).
- RN licensure in Ohio.
- BLS certification.
