Staff Nurse - Medical

About the role

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on principles from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient-centered care for diverse individuals or groups, with a focus on family involvement.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and direct nursing care within the scope of practice.
• Deliver physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety support for patients of all ages.
• Perform leadership, mentorship, and professional duties, including precepting new staff.
• Engage in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with provider staff to ensure efficient operations, high-quality care, and excellent customer service.
• Utilize informatics and technology systems, including electronic medical records.
• Support systems-based practice and participate in ongoing staff education.
• May be temporarily assigned across various areas based on patient needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or within five years of hire.
• Current RN licensure in Ohio and Basic Life Support certification.

Skills

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience working with healthcare teams; healthcare experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems preferred.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience is preferred.

Schedule

• Part-time role, onsite, nights shift, 24 hours/week.
• Focus on providing family-centered and pediatric care within a collaborative team environment.
