Staff Nurse - Hematology

About the role

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on principles from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct patient-centered care for individuals or groups within their scope of practice.
• Deliver comprehensive care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all age groups.
• Demonstrate leadership, perform quality improvement, safety duties, and support staff education and mentoring.
• Promote collaboration with provider staff to ensure efficient, high-quality pediatric care and excellent customer service.
• Utilize evidence-based practices, systems-based practices, informatics, and technology.
• May be temporarily assigned to various areas based on patient needs.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or willing to obtain within 5 years.
• Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Valid RN license in Ohio, with Multistate License required within 90 days if providing care outside Ohio.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Skills

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC) preferred.
• Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively.
• Onsite presence required.
