Staff Nurse - Hematology Oncology

About the role

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences, focusing on family-centered care for diverse patient groups.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care within the scope of practice.
• Deliver care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients of all ages.
• Perform leadership, mentorship, and precepting duties for staff development.
• Engage in quality improvement, safety initiatives, evidence-based practices, and systems-based practice duties.
• Support provider staff, promote collaboration, and ensure excellent patient service using a team approach.
• Utilize informatics and technology tools, including electronic medical records.
• Participate in ongoing education and adapt to temporary assignments across different areas as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or obtained within 5 years of hire.
• Active RN license in Ohio required.
• Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Minimum of one year healthcare experience preferred.

Skills

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience with healthcare teams and Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with EMR systems preferred.
