About the role
The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care grounded in biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct patient care using a family-centered approach
- Deliver holistic care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages
- Perform leadership, mentorship, and staff education duties, including precepting new employees
- Engage in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practices
- Collaborate with providers to ensure efficient operations, high-quality care, and excellent customer service using a team approach
- Utilize informatics and technology systems, with flexibility to support various hospital areas as needed
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
- Experience with healthcare teams and familiarity with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and guide staff collaboratively
Education & Licensing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or obtain within 5 years
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred
