Job Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
- Serve as a primary or accountable nurse, considering safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact.
- Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
- Utilize a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administer medications according to UHS Hospitals policy.
- Share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, supplies, and services.
- Comply with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies.
- Actively participate in and support the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices.
- Engage in professional development, continuing nursing education, and complete all mandatory education requirements.
- Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
- Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
- Perform duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.
- May assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Skills & Experience
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
Schedule Notes
12 Days; 36 hours/week, every other weekend
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- TNCC
Experience
2 years ED experience
