Staff Nurse - Emergency Department

About the role

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care, utilizing knowledge from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. They assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct patient-centered care, ensuring safety and addressing the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs across all age groups.

Responsibilities

• Perform leadership duties
• Contribute to quality improvement and safety initiatives
• Mentor staff
• Support collaborative efforts with providers to deliver efficient, high-quality care with a focus on pediatric patients
• Participate in evidence-based practices
• Participate in systems-based practices
• Utilize informatics and technology
• Flexibility for temporary assignments across different hospital areas

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong leadership, guidance, and motivational skills to foster teamwork and quality service
• Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
• Experience with various organizational levels and healthcare settings preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems (e.g., EPIC) preferred
• Education: BSN required or to be obtained within 5 years, and active RN licensure in Ohio
• Certifications: BLS from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred
