Staff Nurse - Emergency Department

About the role

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences, focusing on family‑centered care for diverse patient groups.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care within the scope of practice.
• Deliver care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages.
• Perform leadership, mentorship, and professional duties, including staff education and precepting new employees.
• Engage in patient‑centered, quality improvement, safety, and evidence‑based practices.
• Support collaborative team efforts, promote efficient operations, and ensure high‑quality pediatric care and customer service.
• Utilize informatics and technology, including electronic medical records.
• Participate in system‑based practices and adapt to temporary assignments as needed.
• Perform other duties required to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications & Skills

• Current Ohio RN licensure.
• BLS certification.
• BSN required or within five years of obtaining one.
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience (preferred).
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience in healthcare and organizational settings (preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with EMR systems such as EPIC (preferred).
