Staff Nurse - Emergency Department

About the role

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct patient‑centered care within scope of practice.
• Deliver holistic care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all age groups.
• Perform leadership, mentoring, and professional duties, including staff education and precepting.
• Engage in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence‑based practices.
• Collaborate with provider staff to ensure efficient operations, high‑quality care, and excellent customer service.
• Utilize systems‑based practice, informatics, and technology to support patient care.
• Support flexible staffing across departments based on patient needs.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Current Ohio RN license, BLS certification, and a BSN (or within 5 years of hire).
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience (preferred).
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience in healthcare and familiarity with electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC) is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Additional requirements

• On‑site work during night shifts, including patient care, team collaboration, and quality initiatives.
