Staff Nurse - Emergency Department
About the role
The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient-centered care for individuals or groups within their scope of practice. They demonstrate leadership, perform quality improvement, safety duties, and support staff education and mentorship. Collaborating with provider staff, they promote efficient operations, high-quality care, and excellent customer service, especially for pediatric patients. The role involves systems-based practice, informatics, and technology duties, with flexibility to be assigned across different areas as needed.
Qualifications
Additional duties may be assigned as required. Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively. Experience working with various organizational levels preferred; healthcare experience is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC) preferred.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or to be obtained within 5 years.
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Ohio required.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred.
