Staff IT Engineer (IAM)

About the role
The IT team at Headway is crucial for operational efficiency. This role involves designing, developing, and standardizing the Identity and Access Management (IAM) lifecycle and associated workflows for Headway employee accounts. Key responsibilities include driving automation and integration excellence, strengthening security foundations, leading the transition to least-privilege, and supporting the organization-wide Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) initiative.
Responsibilities
- Execute projects to tackle IAM challenges as Headway scales.
- Configure and manage workflows to automate provisioning, de-provisioning, and access changes.
- Complete and maintain key IdP integrations with business applications.
- Leverage least-privilege principles to govern access based on job function and need.
- Address and resolve identity-related incidents and escalated service requests.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish IAM policies and governance fostering a culture of least-privilege.
Requirements
- Experience in a SaaS environment with at least 5 years, specifically in Identity & Access Management (Okta experience preferred).
- Subject matter expertise in IAM technologies, including large-scale projects involving IdP implementation, JML automation, and API integrations.
- Leadership in cross-functional access control deployments.
- Technical acumen and ability to partner with stakeholders to implement efficient solutions.
- Methodical project ownership and management skills.
- Continuous learning and staying updated on the latest IAM technologies and privacy best practices.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of IAM technologies such as Okta, Google Workspace, Confluence, 1Password, Jira Service Desk, ZenDesk, Jira Projects, and Google Workspace.
- Experience with identity management tools like Okta, Lumos, and Google Workspace.
- Ability to lead and manage large-scale IAM projects.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with IAM policies and governance.
