Staff Engineer - ML Operations - USA Remote

About the role

This role will lead operational priorities focused on execution quality, efficiency, safety, and measurable performance outcomes. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a Business Services environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end ML lifecycle and deployment, ensuring rigorous tracking and reproducibility of models
• Collaborate with bioinformatics and computational biology teams to create scalable protein design workflows
• Implement CI/CD and observability for ML, automating deployment and monitoring model performance
• Enhance GPU and compute efficiency through effective resource management and optimization
• Develop self-service ML tools and provide technical leadership to empower data scientists and researchers

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computational Biology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of software, ML, or infrastructure engineering experience with a strong track record in MLOps
• Experience with ML lifecycle tooling such as MLflow, Kubeflow, and Weights & Biases
• Strong skills in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and a major cloud platform (Azure preferred)
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with Bash for automation and tooling

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $180,000 – $220,000 annually
